About.
I am a contemporary artist, a painter of modern life.Like Dubuffet, Matisse, Louise Bourgeois, and more recently Rose Wylie, I am a late starter.
I spent many years as an art director, creating famous advertising campaigns, but I have always painted. And now I paint even more.
I’m currently at Marcus Harvey’s Turps Banana - in many people’s view, a less conventional choice than the Royal College.
I was privileged enough to paint alongside Rose Wylie, Georgia Hayes, Kath Thompson, Fraser Taylor, and many others at Roy Oxlade’s totally inspiring Summer Schools.
It was Roy who changed my life by teaching me that mistakes are good. Imagine being taught that!
It blew my mind.
